Shiv Khori Temple is a cave temple, located in the district Reasi of Jammu and Kashmir, India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The pilgrims have to traverse about 3 km on foot on a built track to reach the Shiv Khori cave temple. The legend says that the demon Bhasmasur after meditating Lord Shiva for more number of years, got a boon that he can end the life of anyone. After getting this boon, the demon Bhasmasur tried to end the life of Lord Shiva. To save himself from the demon, Lord Shiva started running out of the focus of the demon and entered into the cave which is known as Shiv Khori.
Lord Vishnu is said to take the form of Mohini, came to the demon Bhasmasur and asked him to dance along with Her and made him to touch his head, and with his own power, he was destroyed himself. And it is said that around 330 million deities has been exists in this cave temple in the form of pindis, and from the top of the cave milky water falls directly on the pindis.
The Shiv Khori cave is about 200 meters long and it contains a sacred unending self-manifested Lingam, a different manifestation of Lord Shiva. The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Shiva in the form of lingam, which is 4 meters high, and Khori refers to the cave, where Lord Shiva was housed. And hence it is called as Shivkhori. There is also other images bounds the cave which are similar to Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesh, and Nandigan and pigeons are also seen here.
And according to the saint Bababa ramesgirigi, who is said to have lived in that cave, there exists a way inside the cave to reach the amaranth cave temple. The roof of the cave is engraved with snake formations and the water trickles through this etched formation on Shiva lingam.
The temple remains open from morning 5:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon). In the evening from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Shivkhori is 43 Kms from Reasi, 48 Kms from Jyotipuram, 75 Kms from Katra, 110 Kms from Udhampur, 130 Kms from Jammu, 299 Kms from Amritsar, 372 Kms from Ludhiana and 436 Kms from Chandigarh through Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (PSRTC and J&KSRTC) and some private travel services.
The nearest Railway Station is Jammu Tawi Railway Station which is connected to the major cities of Jammu and Kashmir and is 107 Kms from Shivkhori. There are many trains that connect Shivkhori to several important places such as New Delhi, Goa, Chennai, Mumbai, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Jalandhar, Bhopal, Agra, Nagpur etc.
The nearest Domestic Airport is Satwari Airport, Jammu, roughly three hour drive from Shivkhori. It is well connected to a spectrum of cities like Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai and Srinagar through Jet Airways, Air India and Spice Jet. The nearest International Airport is Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport, Amritsar, roughly 300 Kms from Shivkhori.
