A famous golden temple is located among the small green mountains in an area called Malaikodi at Vellore city in Tamil Nadu. This temple is surrounded by a green area. This temple is not only famous amongst the local people of this region but also famous worldwide. This temple is made from pure gold and one of the best Hindu architecture. Temple is built on 100 acres land. It was constructed and maintained by Sri Narayani Peetam Vellore.

Over 15000 kg of gold used in the construction of this Maha Lakshmi Mandir is over 300 crores has been completed in the temples. This is the first temple in the world that is built with this much gold. The lightening system of this temple is done in such a way that during the night, it glitters like heaven. It took nearly 7 years to construct Golden Temple Vellore. Estimated that 400 goldsmiths and copper-smiths participated in building this temple. About twelve layers of gold foils have been pasted on copper sheets embossed with the designs of Gods and fixed on the walls. The interior of the temple Built with pure gold. There are so many complex statues of god and goddess in this temple. Sri MahaLakshmi idol inside the sanctum is made of 70 kg pure gold. The temple is designed according to Sri Chakra star lines. The temple is in round shape.  It looks as if a Sri Chakra when viewed from the upper side. The star shaped pathway leads to the main temple. The place is surrounded by lovely nature and the sculptures sculpted are at its marvel in architecture. It is designed in such a way that every single detail was created manually, and then mountin into the copper foils.  And then gold foils are mounted on the etched copper plates for 9 to 10 layers.  The temple is very well maintained and it is very divine. There are many shops in the temple. The best time to visit the temple is during the evening under the lights the temple looks surreal.

Vaikunda Ekadasi is grandly celebrated in the temple in December-January.

By Bus

The temple is located at a distance of 8km from vellore old bus stand. From the bus stand, tourists can avail local buses, taxi, and auto rickshaw to reach the temple.

By Train

Nearest Railway station is katpadi.  Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple   temple is 15km from katpadi railway junction.

By Air 

The nearest airport is the chennai International Airport, which is well connected with the major cities in India, the airport is also well linked with some gulf countries.
